| INSPIRATION 2012 KICK STARTED IN MUMBAI IN PRESENCE OF GUL PANAG AND HOLLYWOOD ACTOR, TOM MALLOY (2012-06-14) |
~Whistling Woods International students travel across 6 cities in 18 days to educate the youth on career opportunities in the media and communication industry~
Mumbai, 14th June, 2012: The enthusiastic students of Whistling Woods International – School of Media and Communication division announced the second edition of ‘Inspiration’ today in Mumbai at the WWI campus. The nationwide event series was introduced last October 2011. During this season, ‘Inspiration’ will travel across 6 cities starting from Mumbai and moving on to Nasik, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai and Ranchi. This initiative is an endeavor led by the MBA-Media students to reach out to the young minds across the country looking for an insight into the Media & Entertainment Industry.
The event was inaugurated by Gul Panag and Subhash Ghai followed by a seminar. The seminar was a great success as it unleashed copious knowledge and awareness about the Media & Entertainment profession through the medium of a panel discussion amongst media stalwarts. The eminent panelists comprised of Subhash Ghai, Founder & Chairman, WWI; Ujjwal K.Chowdhury, Dean, WWI- School of Media and Communication; Gul Panag, Actor; RJ Salil and RJ Archana, Radio City; Pradeep Guha, Entertainment Industry veteran and Hollywood actor Tom Malloy. They threw light on ‘Media evolution, What next?’ Renowned Hollywood Producer, Brian Ronalds was a special guest at the event.
Gul Panag, Actor, well appreciated the thought of Inspiration 2012 and said, “It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of Whistling Woods family. I must congratulate the Media and Film industry for having a brilliant institute like Whistling Woods International.”
“What India needs today is ‘Right of quality education’ for the youth with good faculties and resources; than just ‘Right of education’ which may not fill the gap for need of good education, due to the lack of fine resources," said Subhash Ghai supporting his students with the Seminar series of ‘Inspiration'
Felicitated with the ‘Young Achiever’ award were Suzanne Ghai, Creative Head Fiction - Star Plus and Mangesh Hadawale, Oscar Nominated Indian film director & writer for having set their foot in the industry and making it big within a short span of time. The ‘Young Achiever’ award was introduced last by WWI in Inspiration 2011 which honors accomplished young personas, who have made it big in the field of Media & Entertainment.
The event later comprised of an entertaining evening lightened by RAETH - a well-known Pakistani Musical Band. The students exhibited abundant creativity and showcased tremendous talent through dance and photography competitions.
‘Inspiration’ started last October, when 70 MBA students went around 16 cities of India in two months, to educate the youth of the country on various career opportunities in the media and communication industry. Over 140 speakers speaking across India, 38 young media achievers below 35 years of age each were awarded as ‘Young Communication Achievers’, and some 4600 youths participating across India. It was an impressive start to the nationwide series of multi city campaigns.
“This time too some 63 speakers are slated to speak in these six cities, at least 15 young achievers will be awarded, and more than 2000 youths will participate in the event series”, informed Prof Ujjwal K Chowdhury.
The third edition of WWI Inspiration is being planned to happen in November-December 2012 in which the School is expected to cover a wider base of some 20 cities across India, mostly the state capitals of the country, and a chapter in Dubai too.
All in all, the students of WWI were excited and all set to inspire the youth of India through their unique initiative of ‘Inspiration’.
